A Letter from the President
Being the New Piece in the Puzzle
At some point in our lives, each of us has been the unfamiliar face in the crowd – the new addition to an established community. Having joined the AIU LA community less than a year ago, I am living that reality. Frankly, this experience is nothing new for me. Constant change has been a central feature of my entire life. You see, throughout my childhood and continuing into my adult and professional life, I have moved around very often. In fact, I have lived in eight of the 50 states and in three foreign countries. These experiences have helped me in many ways, but among the most important is a deeper understanding of the role every single person plays in shaping a community. Everyone, even the newest member, contributes to the personality and effectiveness of the organization. In effect, we are all pieces of the puzzle.
Here at AIU LA, we welcome each and every new student to our community and value the unique skills, talents and experiences you bring. You and I are complex beings with our own hopes and aspirations. For each of us at AIU LA, the key to success is identifying how we can derive the most value from our education and, at the same time, contribute to an environment that values innovation and career-focused learning. Our goal is to make college an appealing option for you by focusing on real-world learning that will help you succeed in the career of your choice.
My aim is to be open and accessible.
